What is Powder Coating?
Powder Coating is a highly specialized technique for applying “dry” paint to the surface of an object, such as an automotive part and other metallic surface.
Unlike conventional liquid (or wet) paint, powder coating is a “dry” painting process which does not require the use of harsh chemicals or solvents to keep it in a liquid state.
Instead of being applied with a brush, an object is coated with an electrostatically charged powder that is evenly sprayed with a powder coating gun.
Curing Process
After applying a powder coat to a surface, heat is then applied to cure (dry and harden) the paint and create a “baked-on” finish.
